Develop Key Skills

The students explore important contemporary global issues, developing teamwork and leadership skills and significantly improving their communication and language skills.

About the Programme

The aim of our English Olympics is to further students’ understanding of the English language while helping them develop skills in leadership, public speaking, team-building and time management – all necessary for future leaders. Team members must work closely together, support one another, and strive to be the best they can be.

Every year the contest focuses on a topical theme which provides a forum for students to explore important global political and social issues.

We were there!!!

This is the place where the British English Olympics takes place

We were taken to Christ 's Hospital College, the boarding school where the opening ceremony and main events related to BEO are held.
We got  to know about the painstaking organisation of this event. It is truly astounding the preparation and care put into this competition.
There is nothing like this academic prestigious competition out there.
They have been running for more than 10 years now and it seems to be getting stronger and stronger.

We visit the cafeteria that served as the inspiration for Harry Potter's dining room!!!

We had the honour to visit the main comedor where children participating in the BEO competition have their meals. It was the inspiration for the Harry Potter's dining room. Watch the video for more info. And yes... that is us making funny noises  in awe of the place.

We were in awe of this place

Impossible not to feel the history and the rigour with what this place was built.

It would be an amazing experience for any child and teacher to set foot on this school wih origins dating from 1552. Their school logan is "where tradition meets transformation". We couldn't agree more.

Alex from Oxford International take us to the room where BEO opening ceremony is held.

This is the room where all participant gets together for the beginning of the BEO competition. We can not wait to see your students in that same room with the Spanish flag hanging from that ceiling!!!

The Competition

The competition consists of a series of challenges for the teams, which are assessed and graded by a select panel of judges.

Do you have what it takes to compete against other schools around the world? The number of schools to be accepted is limited.
